Lovely! I’ll do that. In fact I’ve never re-posted before! You’re the first, but I kind of fell in love with the landscape and the skies in this photo! Beautiful!
You are right I think – this one was wet and the Flamingos seemed to love breeding there – it was when I’d just visited Salar de Uyuni which is the largest salt flat in the world which has a thick, dry crust of salt and a pool of brine underneath (formed as a result of transformations between several prehistoric lakes). If this one dried out, it would also be a salt flat like that one too. These lakes are often pretty pastel shades but smell very bad. I’m glad you like the image, thank you 🙂
superb!
Thank you Mimo!
its pretty
wud u mind if i try making a sketch of this??
🙂
Of course not, it would be a compliment! You should send me a link so I can check it out when you’re done 🙂

Desolate but so romantic.

Oh – and a lovely weekend to you too, Tania!
Great composition.
Thank you! 🙂
Stunning landscape and a great shot too!
Thanks Paula!
I can see how it gets its name.
🙂
Everything about this photo speaks louder than any words can express!
Ah what a lovely comment, thank you!
I love the sheer emptiness of the place. Is it a drying lake, forming a salt plane? I couldn’t find much information on it, to be honest.

Beautiful yet bleak at the same time. Nice shot.
